Beach cleaning event, participating in the Siisti Biitsi - Snygg Beach campaign

Actor: Turku Energia Ltd   ●   Year: 2015   ●   Address: Rykmentintie 51, Turku, Finland

We participated again in the Keep the Archipelago Tidy association's annual beach cleaning campaign.  © Turku Energia

Description

This time we cleande the Ispoinen becah and its surroundings in Turku. The action was part of our new Baltic Sea Challenge commitments.

Benefits

The beach seemed to be quite clean, but soon we found and gathered sackfuls of trash, glass and other junk from the beach and its surroundings. Thus the area is safer and more attractive.

To our organisation the event was useful in raising awareness of our personnel in environmental issues and enhancing their environmental responsibility. We told about the cleaning and its results also in our stakeholder communication channels like the Fabebook profile and personnel magazine.
